1 stick (4 oz) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs, at room temperature 30 minutes
1 cup well-shaken buttermilk
Cake:
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons sifted cake flour (not self-rising; sift before measuring)
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick (4 oz) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs, at room temperature 30 minutes
1 cup well-shaken buttermilk
Caramel Glaze:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Make cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F with rack in middle. Butter an 8-inch square cake pan and line bottom with a square of parchment paper, then butter parchment.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until pale and fluffy, then beat in vanilla. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. At low speed, beat in buttermilk until just combined (mixture may look curdled). Add flour mixture in 3 batches, mixing until each addition is just incorporated.

Spread batter evenly in cake pan, then rap pan on counter several times to eliminate air bubbles. Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then run a knife around edge of pan. Invert onto rack and discard parchment, flip cake so it is right-side up and then cool completely, about 1 hour.
Make glaze:
Bring cream, brown sugar, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt to a boil in a 1 1/2-quart heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Boil until glaze registers 210 to 212°F on thermometer, 12 to 14 minutes, then stir in vanilla.
Put rack with cake in a shallow baking pan and pour hot glaze over top of cake, allowing it to run down sides. Cool until glaze is set, about 30 minutes.

Oprah, The Mayor Of Newark , Gov. of NJ , the CEO of Facebook & millions of dollars
Oprah, is scheduled to host Gov.
Christie and Mayor Cory Booker when they announce and provide details on
the $100 million gift from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. STORY INSIDE
Christie and Booker will proclaim
that the long-troubled Newark schools, which have been under state
control for 15 years, are going to be placed under Booker’s authority.
Together, Booker and the school system will embark on a massive program
of educational change long opposed by teachers unions.
It will include an expansion of charter schools, new achievement standards and methods for judging which schools and teachers are effective, the sources said.
The announcement was confirmed by a third person with knowledge of Booker and Christie’s arrangements. The sources detailed the plans on the condition they not be identified because they were not authorized to go public before Friday’s show. The reordering of the state’s largest school district will be made possible by a challenge grant of $100 million from Zuckerberg, the 26-year-old billionaire who co-founded Facebook. The grant is an invitation for others to become donors – with a goal of raising another $100 million, bringing the total gift to $200 million. The grant from Zuckerberg alone amounts to more than 10 percent of the district’s annual budget.
Zuckerberg is expected to join with Christie and Booker at Winfrey’s studio in Chicago for the announcement, according to the sources. The announcement is scheduled to air live Friday in Chicago at 10 a.m. EDT and then rebroadcast at 4 p.m. on ABC Channel 7 in North Jersey and Channel 6 in the southern portion of the state.
The school plan calls for Christie to use his authority as the official overseer of the Newark district and name Booker a “special assistant to the governor” for education in the state’s largest city.Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver said tonight she was pleased the money would be going to Newark schools but was concerned with any strings that might be attached to the gift.”The devil is in the details,” Oliver said. “We have to be very careful in terms of the intrusion into the public system and any donor that would provide funding to the Newark schools system, but I do want to examine what strings come with it.”The move was designed to “circumvent the local community and local control,” Oliver said, adding that in order for the mayor to achieve control of schools by traditional means, the matter would have to go before a public referendum of Newark voters. “They probably know the mood in the Newark community is not one that would want to give the mayor appointing authority.”
Oliver also noted the irony of Christie’s recent push to eliminate the practice of holding dual offices in New Jersey.”Last week the governor said he didn’t want people to have two jobs,” Oliver said.Bruce Baker, an associate professor in Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Education and an expert on education spending, said “open questions” abound about how Newark will use such a large donation.”We don’t know if it’s $100 million all at once, spread out over time, with conditions and strings attached,” Baker said. “These circumstances are certainly interesting if not bizarre.”

Japenese Magazine: Cool Trans x Supreme F/W ’10
I Was flipping through Cool Trans magazine earlier ( don’t take me literal), and I stumbled across one of my favorite streetwear brands with the dope lookbook feature for this fall/winter. Consisting of a few important pieces in this years collection. Nate Lowman gives a pretty cool look towards fashion so I guess it was only right Supreme used him as the model for this one.

Oregon State prepares to play at Boise State
If teams can blast crowd noise and fight songs during practices to prepare for hostile road environments like the one Oregon State goes into Saturday night on the infamous "Smurf Turf" at Boise State, I guess it makes sense to paint the practice fields blue, too!!

1993 & 1996 Micheal Jordan : Show and Prove
There’s no way possible we could sit here and name Micheal Jordan’s numerous amount of accolades, lets face it this man was simply a legend from day one, he has enough background to make 10 New York Times Best-Sellers easily. From the up and downs through his career no one could ever say when this man stepped on the court they did not feel the impact he brought, from the Great Walls of China to the back streets in Brooklyn his name rung bells in the basketball world. Not only that, but his success in the sneaker culture was crazy. Men died over the kicks he roamed in, but hey thats apart of the sneaker culture and what he made it.
In 1993 when Micheal retired for the first time in his career, it was devastation to the basketball world, he basically opened up the doors for other teams to get their shot even though he was fresh off of his 3rd championship.
1993: The playoffs that year were a piece of cake, with a man strictly about business how could ever lose? Running through every team in the east, the time came when he had to bump heads with Charles Barkley one of the most powerful players the NBA had ever seen, but him and the Phoenix Suns of 1993 was no match for the Chicago Bulls.

Infrared Ye
Kanye West set 2010 MTV Video Music Awards stage on fire as he
performed his dope hit “Runaway” to his fans and haters. To me It was the Dopest performance of the night .. In Kanye
fashion, he sported his Infrared Suit and his Louis Vuitton Don sneakers shits are $845 beans smh in red which served as the perfect color choice for the majority
white backdrop. In my opinion it was the perfect song, outfit, and
performance to put him back on top.
PUMA SUEDE CLASSIC
The Puma Suede is one of those shoes that simply never goes out of style. Cousin of the free-wheelin’ Clyde, the Suede became a New York icon thanks to its adoption by the burgeoning b-boy scene of the early 80s (note The Rock Steady Crew and New York City Breakers strutting in their Suedes in this scene from Breakdance.) Back in some all-time favourite colourways, the Suede Classic collection is available right now at Fabfive 24.

Jay-Z And Em Brings The Show To NY
I Bought You Guys Some Media Press From The Concert In Detroit So Why The Hell Not Bring To You What All Went Down in New York!...
Monster- Kanye, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj (First Female Rapper To Grace NY Stadium)
Jay-Z Performs "Renegade" With Eminem & "Light Up" With Drake
Jay-Z Performs Forever Young With Beyonce & Most Kingz With Chris Martin
But Yea Ppl... The stadium was definitely packed which i would assume the way the tickets sold out miraculously . Huge difference from Detroit specially Stadium Size they say it was more of a hip hop woodstock feeling in the atmosphere. Also a difference where the folks weren't reciting every word from Em line for line like they did back home. But Regardless Eminem killed every track on his set!! Alot said Reaction for "Stan" was amazing. But Em definetly seemed alot comfortable speaking to the crowd a lot more.
Alot Of Special Guest here as well ppl the birthday boy Swizz Beats came out to rock with Jay-Z. Even 50 Cent came out to shut down the stadium.. He came out for "Patiently Waiting," "I Get Money" and "Beama Benz and Bentley" and "In Da Club". Also The reception for Dr. Dre was immaculate. They were going crazy for Doc. Of Course Kanye for run this town, and nly the second song in. Ye goes into power and brings out Jay of course and Nicki Minaj (and the growd went nuts at this point)...Chris Martin from Cold Play comes out .Oh Drake was in the buildin startin with "Miss Me." and of course "Free Weezy" chants rang loud, next "Light Up" for the first time ever live i hear it was NICEEE! All of us know she was gonna peek her head out.. Beyonce came out for "Forever Young" she did her thang of course... And Even Lebron Was In the Building thats right Lebron James..
They Said Jay-Z Had The Stadium goin bonkers when he performed Big Pimpin, Jay brought out Eminem for Renegade! The super powers were back together again. "Empire State of Mind" was terrific, even tho it was no Alicia Keys, but Briget Kelly replaced her and she did well!! Point In the show He Started "Thank You," but told them to stop it. Jay bought out Bleek back out for "Jigga My Nigga." Nobody wanted to leave.. Jay went into Overtime like gave Yankee Stadium Some Extra Innings PAUSE lol.Buh Hova chants just kept ringin so he kept going. He Started rolling out a whole lot of hits!!! "Where I'm From," "Dirt off Your Shoulder." "Give it to me".. Packed Stadium Was Loving Every Bit Of It...
Heres Some More Photos:
I really think they need to make this thing a multi city/state tour!!
