The Success Of Team U.S.A

As is always the case when a group of talented players are thrown together with little preparation, the ability to find each other and share unselfishly was a major concern for some as Team USA entered the 2010 FIBA Championship.

Although much has been made of their offensive stagnation, I would point out that they have accumulated 133 assists on 244 made field goals. Keep in mind that FIBA statisticians are much less generous doling out assists than in the NBA. In addition, Team USA has been to the line 142 times in seven games, which is always a sign of effective offense.

Chauncey Billups and Stephen Curry lead the team in assists, but the commitment to sacrifice goes much deeper than that.

Consider the selflessness of Danny Granger, who has drawn two DNP-CD's and trails all players on the team in minutes played. This is a guy who, during the regular season, is largely considered as a franchise player and one of the more versatile performers in the NBA. His willingness to defer to players younger than him for the good of the team speaks volumes to his character.

Andre Iguodala is another Team USA player who has accepted a diminished role on this team. Taking less than four attempts a game, Iguodala leads the team in steals (along with Kevin Durant) at twelve and has thirteen offensive rebounds.

Every USA player has worked to accept their roles and play to each other's strengths.

Music Monday: Em & Jay Performance : Renegade LIVE in Detroit

Jay-Z, Eminem take Hip-Hop to new level!!

You wanted history? They gave you history.

Detroit was the undisputed center of the hip-hop universe Thursday night, at the first of Eminem and Jay-Z's back-to-back concerts at Comerica Park. In addition to the evening's megawatt headliners, and they brought along some friends Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Drake,Young Jeezy,D12,B.o.B(who actually opened up the concert ), all graced the stage infront of 42,000+ people

The majority of the guests came out during Eminem's 100-minute headlining set, which followed Jay-Z's phenomenal opening performance. Before long, the cameos were starting to get more consistant that lined Em's set: Drake joined him for "Forever," returning a favor for when Em appeared at the Toronto rapper's hometown performance earlier this summer; 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks came on for mini-set of 50 Cent songs, including "Patiently Waiting" and "In Da Club"; and Dr. Dre appeared wearing a Proof shirt, to honor late great detroit rapper Proof who was gunned down and killed in Detroit in 2006 and believe it or not he even did a small set of songs with Em, including "Nuthin' But a G Thang" and "Still D.R.E." Em got the crowd to chant for Dre's long-delayed "Detox" LP as Dre left the stage, and Dre's response was 2 simple words....  "I'm comin!"

(So I guess All That Past Shit Has Been Flushed )

All i'm gonna say is I can't wait to see what goes down.  When they bring the show to NY in a couple days!!!

2011 Ford Explorer 3rd Quarter Release

Chances are that in some point in your life you've either owned a Ford Explorer or know somebody who did. For a stretch in the 1990s, it was like a modern-day Moses had trotted out of the Mall of America with an 11th commandment: "Thou shalt own a Ford Explorer SUV." The things were everywhere.
But as with so much in life, the boom couldn't last. Because of the Firestone tire/rollover debacle and changing consumer desires, Explorer sales have oppressively trended downward for the past decade. So for this new decade, Ford wants you to largely forget what you know of the past when you check out the 2011 Ford Explorer.
This new Explorer shares little with last year's model other than its name. Gone are the truck-related mechanicals; underneath, its unibody construction is similar to that of the Ford Flex. The upside is more carlike driving dynamics and safety; the downside is reduced maximum towing capacity. In terms of size, the new Explorer is nearly 4 inches longer in overall length and 5 inches wider. Ground clearance, at 8 inches, is about the same as before, and Ford has tossed in a new "Terrain Management System," which electronically matches the operation of the four-wheel-drive system to specific road conditions.
Massive changes are also in store for what's under the hood. The standard 2011 Ford Explorer engine is a new 3.5-liter V6 available in either front-wheel- or four-wheel drive. It's good for 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque and is said to be 20 percent more fuel-efficient than the previous 292-hp V8. For even better mpg, front-drive Explorers can be optioned with a turbocharged four-cylinder (yes, really) rated at 237 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic is standard for all models, but four-wheel-drive models will no longer have low-range gearing.
Step inside the new 2011 Ford Explorer and you'll still see three rows of seating. The cabin is roomier now, with increased shoulder- and hiproom. The interior looks considerably more modern, and Ford has thrown in all its latest technological goodies, including Sync, MyTouch and MyKey. On the safety front, the Explorer gains inflatable second-row seatbelt airbags (a first for the automotive industry) which promise to improve safety for smaller occupants. Also new is Ford's Curve Control, a system designed to enhance braking if the SUV exhibits signs of excessive speed while turning.
Summed up, the new 2011 Ford Explorer is much more in tune with what today's crossover shoppers are looking for. It drives well, gets good fuel economy for its class and still retains the versatility that made people like SUVs in the first place. But of course the Explorer isn't the only game in town like it used to be. Other competitors like the Honda Pilot, Hyundai Veracruz, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Highlander will likely be on your shopping list. We'll know more on how the Explorer stacks up once we get closer to its on-sale date in early calendar-year 2011.

J Cole - Villematic

Since signing to Jiggaman’s Roc Nation imprint all eyes have been on J. Cole.
Well, not Tupac “All eyes” status, but heads in the hood were curious as
to why Mr. S. Dot Carter took a shining to the young Tarheel.
Cause everybody knows that for every Beanie Sigel and
Rihanna that Jiggaman’s brought to the game he’s also tacked on an Aztek
and a Teairra Mari or two or three. So one of the questions that’s on the mind of
most of the hip-hop world right now is: Did Hova
find a diamond in the rough or just coal to discard into the
fire should the Roc Nation movement fail to gain momentum?
